This Introduction to the Piano class is for children who are beginners and wish to have first lessons to help them decide if piano playing is to become a passion in their lives.
While we start children as young as four years for individual piano lessons with inclusive parental involvement, these group classes are for children who have already reached six years. We find children at 6 years are able to learn independently of their parents.
These group classes are small and offer a socialised environment where children of a similar age learn together. The classes have lesson plans with clearly defined learning milestones and it often happens that the children learn to some extent by observing each other. The team spirit that evolves is supportive and encouraging. This environment is an ideal way to introduce music to the young.
