Daniel Walsh has more than 40 years experience working in music education, music publishing, audio production, performance and composition. He has a research interest in technology as a support to the teaching and learning of music. He was awarded an honours masters degree in music by DCU for his research. His multimedia publication ‘Bohemian Rhapsody – An Interactive Analysis’ is used in music departments of secondary schools as a Leaving Cert text. Committed to professional development of music teachers and musicians, he was director of the annual Kodály summer school Active Music Making: The Kodály Approach and was chairman of the Kodály Society of Ireland from 2008 to 2018.
A well-known accordionist, pianist and keyboardist, Daniel has contributed to many live performances, recordings and broadcasts and to many backing tracks for various media including theatrical stage plays.

1997–2004:
Daniel contributed performances and arrangements to the ALIVE-O Religious Programme for Primary Schools, Music CDs (Veritas Publications)
An early adopter of using computers in music making and music typesetting and publishing, Daniel's skills and expertise have contributed to many projects bringing new music scores and music books to market. He has been invited to lecture on music technology and music editing on the B.A. and M.A. music courses at DCU: St Patrick’s College, Drumcondra and frequently has been invited to speak for one-off lectures and short-term courses in many professional settings including to the senior academic staff by the DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama, to choir members developing musicianship and sight reading skills by the Association of Irish Choirs (AOIC), to second level music teachers by the Post Primary Music Teachers' Association and as a trainer of trainers by the Department of Education and Skills. As a consultant on the implementation of technology in music education, he has advised, supported and trained the staff of many music departments in schools and colleges in Ireland. He has served more than twenty-five years as examiner for the Dept of Education and Skills of Junior and Leaving Cert practicals and of Choirs, Orchestras and Military Bands.
In 1988, he established Playright Music Ltd. and has served as managing director to date.
